Next Generation of Ohio Medicaid's Managed Care Program

In 2019, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) launched the Medicaid managed care procurement process to reevaluate the current contracts ODM has in place with managed care organizations. The goal of this effort is to re-frame the program into one that does better for the people we serve.

ODM launched its Next Generation managed care plans on February 1, 2023, with a focus on the individual while honoring members' choice and providing continuity in the provision of members’ care. To learn more, visit https://www.ohiomh.com/.

These changes do not include MyCare. Additionally, OhioRISE enrollees will continue to receive their behavioral health benefits through Aetna Better Health of Ohio, (the OhioRISE plan), and their physical health services through a separate managed care organization or fee-for-service Medicaid.
